- BE FORTHRIGHT WITH THE CLIENTS. Tell the clients the good news and the bad news. Don’t tell them they will win a million dollars unless they already have. If there is a flaw in their case, prepare them for that. That takes care of your obligations under the rules. But it also keeps the relationship between you and your client on the right level, with candid information being given so that they can make informed decisions. They’re not responding to things with improper expectations, whether high or low.
