Attorney Hrelic became a principal of the firm in January of 2014 and joined the firm in 2009 after clerking for the Honorable Christine S. Vertefeuille of the Connecticut Supreme Court. At the University of Connecticut School of Law, she was the DeMayo Scholar and the 2006 Public Interest Law Group Helen Z. Pearl Fellow. She also received the CALI Award for Excellence in Law and Philosophy. She was Managing Editor of the Connecticut Law Review from 2007 to 2008.


In 2015, Attorney Hrelic became a Trustee of the University of Connecticut School of Law Foundation Board of Trustees. In 2016, she was elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.


Attorney Hrelic represents clients in civil, family, juvenile, including termination of parental rights, and criminal appeals before the Connecticut Appellate Courts as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She has experience working on appellate matters in the Third Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit. She has represented amicus curiae clients in the United States Supreme Court, and has successfully persuaded the Court to evaluate its authority to hear a certain case based on the arguments in her amicus brief.


Attorney Hrelic regularly speaks on appellate practice in the Connecticut Bar Association and was a presenter at the Virgin Islands Bar Association Annual Meetings in December 2014 and 2015. She has published articles on appellate practice in Connecticut Lawyer magazine. Each fall, she serves as a guest lecturer of Appellate Practice in a class led by Justice Barry Schaller at Yale Law School.

Civil Litigation

Attorney Hrelic handles civil litigation in Connecticut’s state and federal trial courts. She regularly represents and works with individuals, companies, and insurers in a variety of civil trial matters, including personal injury. Moreover, she regularly consults with clients and attorneys on civil, family and complex litigation matters, and provides assistance at all stages of litigation—including both pre- and post-judgment—especially in matters where there is a likelihood of appeal.


Attorney Hrelic co-authors the Connecticut Practice Book Annotated, providing authors’ comments to many of the chapters on Connecticut Juvenile Law. She also co-authored A Practical Guide to Evidence in Connecticut, a publication of MCLE New England, authoring the chapter on reputation evidence. In October 2012, Attorney Hrelic was selected as one of the Connecticut Law Tribune’s “New Leaders in Law” 2012.
